2018 Summer Extravaganza Report
As most of you will be aware, we held our Summer Extravaganza on the 4th August and it was a roaring success! The weather came out for us beautifully on the day as we hoped and we had a fantastic turnout throughout the day, with many enjoying the entertainment, food, drinks and activities on offer.
Local band Time Flies played a wonderful hour and a half set consisting of timeless music from decades past which was a fitting musical backdrop for the event, one that was especially loved by our residents, many of which came out in the sun with their families and staff to soak in the atmosphere and get involved with the activities and stalls. There will soon be a video of the performance Time Flies put on for us at the Extravaganza, capturing the essence of the day perfectly. We would like to give our deepest thanks to Time Flies for their enthusiastic attendance & rousing performance.
Of course, no summer event is complete without a BBQ sizzling away, and this was manned by our long time chef, providing delicious hot-dogs and burgers throughout the day for all the hungry attendees, as well as our residents of course!
Wookey Farm Campsite generously brought along two of their young goats for everyone to meet & pet that the children (and some residents) in attendance particularly enjoyed, and we are thankful to Wookey Farm for graciously providing a very unique attraction to the Extravaganza.
We had a brilliant turnout from local families and youth groups who were not at all short of activities to get involved in – there was a bouncy castle, inflatable football arena, a face painting stall manned by our talented interior designer Chloe Aldrich, accompanied by a very well stocked sweet shop with pick & mix bags aplenty. All of this was very well made use of by the young ones, and I am sure we gave the parents some peace and quiet…if only for an hour or two!
Overall, we were absolutely overjoyed with how the Extravaganza turned out, and we would like to extend our personal thanks to every single person that came along and got involved – it is a blessing to be situated in such a supportive and kind community. Onto the next one!
See you soon!
